🌞 If you’re keeping it sober/not wanting to drink alcohol, OF COURSE kombucha also makes for delicious virgin cocktails! Kombucha is a quick and easy exciting alternative to sugary soft drinks if you’re wanting something bubbly and a little more tasty and energising than water. Simply pimp out your kombucha with your favourite choice of fresh fruits and herbs. Add crushed or normal ice for extra happiness and use your creative intuition to support your experimentation.

Our Favourite Kombucha Cocktail Recipes

 

The GinBerryBasil Cocktail

Ingredients:

✨ 200ml @happycultureza Blueberry and Basil booch

✨ 2 Shots of @sugarbirddistillery gin

✨ 100ml sparkling water

✨ A twirl of honey

✨ 10 fresh blackberries

✨ A sprig of basil + blossoms for decoration

✨ Ice

Method:

💫 Place berries, honey, basil, and blossoms in a large jar. Mash well to release the berry juices.

💫 Keep in the refrigerator in a lidded jar until ready to use.

💫 Place the desired amount of ice in a glass and add mashed berries and basil, gin and kombucha. 

💫 Fill the glass with sparkling water and garnish. Serve immediately.

 

Classic Kombucha Mojito

Traditionally made with soda water we’ve kombucha-fied the classic mojito to bring you zesty freshness with a gut-loving kick 💫

Ingredients:

🌱 1/4 cup @capeostorms White Rum

🌱 200ml Happy Culture Cucumber and Mint Kombucha 

🌱 2T fresh lime juice

🌱 Fresh lime for garnish

🌱 Handful of fresh mint leaves 

🌱 2 tsp Sugar syrup

🌱 Ice 

Method:

🍃 Add lime juice, sugar syrup, and a handful of mint leaves to a cocktail shaker.

🍃 Use the end of a wooden spoon or cocktail muddler to bash (or muddle) the mint into the lime juice and sugar (This releases oils from the mint and helps the sugar dissolve into the lime juice.)

🍃 Add rum, stir well, and then pour into a glass filled with ice, leaving about an inch of room. 

🍃 Top with Cucumber and mint kombucha and serve with extra mint leaves and a lime slice.

 

Ola, Ola Tequila

Ingredients:

🍋 Sea salt for rum

🍋 88ml @leonistaspirit Smokey tequila 

🍋 44ml fresh lime juice

🍋 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger 

🍋 250ml lemon & ginger kombucha 

Method:

💫 Place ground salt on a small plate or saucer. 

💫 Wet the rims of the glass with lime juice or water and dip with salt.

💫 Shake all the ingredients except the kombucha with some ice in a cocktail shaker until the exterior frosts.

💫 Strain into a glass over ice.

💫 Add the kombucha, give it a quick stir and garnish with a slice of lime
